First, thank you for your patience. It's taken me a while to settle in out here. I've been on the move alot and Internet hasn't been that accessible. But I'm online now and writting =)
I have been looking forward to going to the Philippines for a long time. I have finally arrived in the Motherland for the first time!! To be able to experience the Philippines through GK is a dream come true. Being a Fil-Am, I have wanted to get in tune with my roots and culture, not just through books, but through experience. Being an activist, I have wanted to learn more about the solutions to eradicating poverty, where exactly my services will be most needed, and how I can best serve.
GK is allowing me to do both on ground with direct interaction with other volunteers & workers, and especially poor Filipinos. I am soo blessed & proud to be a part of the new Builder's Corps program in GK, and the first in the group to arrive in the Philippines! It is really exciting and overwhelming at the same time. Thank you for sharing this spiritual journey, thats close to my heart. Lets Go!!!
